I LOVE Eagle Nook. They were very accommodating, the food was fantastic, and the lodge has tons of activities to keep you busy when not fishing when one of their amazing guides. I very highly recommend Eagle Nook!
I had the best fishing trip of my life at Eagle Nook. Thank you to the wonderful team that made it extra special by going above and beyond. The staff are thoughtful and caring; the food is delicious; and the fish are plentiful.Overall, this resort is extremely well run.
Spent 4 days with a few of my closest friends here the first week of September. Everything about this resort is amazing. Best of all is the friendly staff from the minute you get on the water taxi at China Bay you are taken care of with 5 star service. Meals are carefully curated to please everyone. My favorite appetizer was the scallops with risotto. Jeff was our amazing guide and worked very hard everyday on the water to ensure we were on fish and catch our limits, when fish weren’t biting the friendly banter was always great. As all the girls said how did you luck out with Jeff, completely not an understatement he truly is an amazing guide and a friend to all on board. When you are done fishing for the day the processing table was one of the most well organized and seamless operations I have ever seen. Even though this was the last week before the end of their season everyone had a smile and worked together to get it done. There are many activities to do when your not fishing, horseshoes, bocce, poker table, bean bags, golf, I would highly recommend bringing your hiking shoes for the 3 trails on the property, they brought back many fond memories of hiking the west coast trail. The rooms are always clean and well stocked. Views around the resort are incredible. Thanks for hosting us, it was an incredible trip. Enjoy your much deserved time off. Scott,Dan,John,Justin
Beautiful area and facility. The staff is top notch
Embarking on my fifth expedition to the Eagle Nook Fishing Resort in BC, Canada, this time accompanied by my close friend and his son, aged 11 and My son 13, was a fascinating blend of familiarity and fresh beginnings. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of British Columbia's landscapes, Eagle Nook Fishing Resort, guided by the seasoned expert Sean, masterfully intertwines tranquility with exhilarating fishing experiences, marking it as an ageless sanctuary. Our chosen lodge, a charming hideaway nestled amid unspoiled nature, welcomed us back with open arms. The lodge's timeless charm and modern amenities created a comforting aura, evoking the essence of a beloved second home. For my son, revisiting this sanctuary felt like returning to a cherished place of memories, while my friend and his boy embarked on a new adventure brimming with anticipation. Each morning, we awoke to the soothing rhythm of waves and the harmonious symphony of coastal life, setting the stage for days filled with family bonding and unforgettable escapades.Eagle Nook's fishing experiences remained as captivating as ever, amplified by the guidance of Sean. His extensive knowledge of the waterways enriched the journey for all generations, seamlessly bridging gaps through the art of angling. Observing the shared joy on our boys' faces as they triumphantly reeled in their catches underscored the resort's enduring ability to craft exceptional family memories. Each fishing expedition transformed into a shared narrative of adventure, unifying us in our collective passion for the sport and nature's beauty.Savoring the culinary marvels at Eagle Nook continued to be a highlight. The chefs' creative fusion of local ingredients into delectable dishes ensured an unforgettable culinary journey that catered to diverse palates. Both my returning son, and my friend's boy, experiencing it for the first time, embraced the culinary exploration, echoing the resort's inviting ambiance and its commitment to fostering discovery. However, what truly distinguishes Eagle Nook is its staff, who have evolved into an extended family over the years. Our guide, Sean, embodied this spirit, radiating warmth and camaraderie. Sean's interactions with our sons, marked by patience and genuine connection, transformed our stay into a reunion with dear friends. As my friend and his son embarked on their first Eagle Nook adventure, their inclusion was seamlessly woven into the fabric of the resort's welcoming embrace. In reflection, my fifth expedition to Eagle Nook Fishing Resort was a testament to its timeless allure. The lodge accommodation exuded comfort and nostalgia, while the fishing excursions, led by Sean, remained eternally appealing to anglers of all levels. The resort's unwavering dedication to nurturing family bonds and its relentless pursuit of excellence converged seamlessly, forming a tapestry of relaxation and excitement for families seeking a paramount retreat. If you're in search of an escape that harmonizes natural beauty, adventure, and luxury, Eagle Nook stands as an enduring beacon. As our countdown begins anew for future visits, it's clear that our journey with Eagle Nook and the remarkable Sean has etched its place in our hearts for a lifetime.
One of the best salmon fishing trips ever. Clean, friendly, great value, and loads of fun. There is nothing negative to say.The facilities and fantastic. And all the meals were superb. The value was great, meals, transport accommodations, and overall facility and grounds are Wonder. Kits to do even if you don't head out for the fishing. Hiking, kayaks, paddle boarding, and games... lots to do all the time. But the best part was the staff... especially our guide, Dan.This was our second year visiting Eagle Nook, and we were lucky to get Dan again. Super knowledgeable, always knew where the fish were at 😉 but more than that, just a great guy to hang out with for the trip. I would highly recommend both the resort and our guide, but I do know all the guides were fantastic. If you are looking for a fishing trip, you need to short list Eagle nook 100 %.
Over the past 30 years I have fished the west coast of BC. So many lodges and so many wonderful experiences, then Eagle Nook. This lodge exceeded all my expectations, great fishing, wonderful accommodations, fantastic food, excellent staff. This lodge is simply amazing. Small, fantastic scenery, heck you catch fish and then more fish. The guides are knowledgeable and work extremely hard. The lodge staff are very accommodating and extremely pleasant. I doubt I will go to any other place again. Jeff, Dan, thank you, great job.
Response from the owner: Thank you Norman! We appreciate your review, this why we do what do. Looking forward to your next visit. All in a days work. Fish onnnnnn!
Great guide (Trevor) with local knowledge of the best spots to drop a line and catch your daily limit. Excellent staff to cater to all your requests.
Response from the owner: Thank you Phil!
Fantastic folks great fishing guides
The Guides, Staff, Food and Accommodation at Eagle Nook Resort are nothing short of amazing. We had a rather large group, and everyone received top notch service from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The guides were all so knowledgeable and made it so even the least experienced fishermen/women had a awesome time out on the water. Fantastic experience, I would recommend to anyone.
This is a true hidden gem. Over the past 15 years, our crew has fished at a lot of resorts from Haida through to Vancouver island. Dan and his team hosted us on an experience we will not forget. His staff is welcoming and professional, the food is 5 star, the guides are very experienced, work as a team and his entire crew was committed to providing us with an all inclusive trip you do not find often. Thank you Eagle Nook Resort, we will be making this a yearly trip and bringing more staff to share our experience.
Eagle Nook is the best resort I have stayed at in Barkley sound. Sam and the entire team are just incredible. In fact I would rate them in the same class as many of the northern BC lodges. How they treat each and every guest is fantastic. Whether you bring your own boat like I do or charter you are treated no different. I would highly recommend them to anyone. See you again soon.
Beautiful location, absolutely wonderful staff & guides, fantastic fishing, and the food was incredible. Already hoping to go again even though we just got home! Great trip and we're grateful that we had the opportunity. Thank you Dan, Jeff, Sam and all the crew at Eagle Nook!
Great operation with skilled guides and staff. The lodge is located on a beautiful island and close to a lot of the prime fishing spots. For those seeking a memorable fishing experience, look no further
Eagle Nook was my first ocean fishing experience, and I couldn't have been more pleased. I went in without having or knowing what to expect, and in the end, my stay there exceeded any expectation I could've had. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the fishing guides were in a word - fantastic, and the location, lodge and food - simply excellent. I highly recommend this resort.
What a place, the food and service is fantastic, our guide Trevor was awesome, we hit our limits each of the three days we were on the water, highly recommend Eagle Nook! Experience of a lifetime!
Beautiful resort! Every room is a ocean front view. The fishing guides are highly knowledgeable about the best areas to fish, we limited out everyday of our trip on all our fish! Food was AMAZING! Resort staff and guides make you feel like family. Definitely recommend.
This lodge is amazing! Great food amazing staff and the fishing never lets you down. Highly recommended

Unreal fishing trip with the best guides and crew to accommodate us. Absolutely awesome trip! Thank you for everything!
Yes Chef! Set on the isthmus between Jane and Vernon Bay, the Nook showers you with only the finest of provisions. Look no further if you seek luxury amongst the rainforest, a lesson in hospitality from master Muehlebach or lifelong friendship.
Sent staff for an appreciation trip for a job well done, and we were all impressed! The staff and facility were beyond expectations. The food was amazing, the staff super friendly. Samantha was very accommodating with all questions, getting back to us quickly and guiding us throughout the whole ordeal. We WILL be back! Do not hesitate to book a trip here!

Gorgeous location with friendly eager staff, cooks that go out of their way to satisfy, experienced fishing guides and several other activities like kayaking, disc golf, horse shoes and a driving range to keep you entertained. Awesome vacation destination for any fisherman or outdoorsy type!
Went to eagle nook resort on a company retreat and i am by no means a fisherman and terrible on boats. The staff made me feel welcome and comfortable with an activity i had never done. Jeff (our guide) never made me feel trapped on the boat when i was sick and always took care of my well being above all and made me want to come back on the boat the next day. its safe to say by day 3 they made somewhat of a fisherman out of me. good food, comfortable beds and staff that made you feel like family, what more could you ask for.
2nd time there.Still the very best! Dan Burnet and crew are still the Best around ,,, along with the fishing ,,second to none,,,, and Trevor “”Mr.Wonderful“” is still a Fishing Legend
Incredible service from check in to check out. Lovely rooms, very comfortable and cozy. Food was delicious and wonderfully presented. Samantha was wonderful to deal with, always cheerful. When Ray and Arnold came back from a day of fishing a wonderful guy was right there to offer to clean the fish and prepare it for vacuum sealing and freezing! Arnold, an 88 yr old seasoned fisherman was very impressed. In fact, he is going back next month! Ray hopes to return next year. Super trip for father and son. They even have a favorite wine now, thanks to their server. Hillside Merlot.
Eagle Nook Resort is simply a magical place. From the ease of check in, the setting, to the organization of our days, it was all first class. All the staff were extremely personable, and went out of their way to ensure all our needs were met.Guide Dan used his experience and expertise to find fish and ensure that we had an epic day on the water.Chef Jimmy and his team thoughtfully prepared tasty creations every night, and even went out of their way to prepare a last minute coconut birthday cake that met our specific dietary needs. We truly appreciated the passion of all the staff and thank you for creating such great memories for us.We will see you all again next year!!
I've been fishing on the Island for a few years now. Eagle nook is top notch. From them making space last minute to Moore your boat to the amazing dinner packages they offer you can't go wrong. Everyday ice was ready on the dock, the boat was fueled and the lunches were ready to go. Do yourself a favour and stay here. We recently stayed in the rooms for a few nights and the beds are super comfy and the hot water is hot !. Trevor, Jeff, Dan and Matt are the guides to book if your looking to get on the fish. The stay is a bit pricey but you really get what you pay for. All around great experiences and we will be back.
Best fishing lodge around hands down.
First of all... Trevor is an amazing, fun & experienced guide!! We can't say enough... Fishing Barkley Sound for halibut & salmon was awesome and bringing home all our catch freezer ready is the best!! The meals are top notch as is this gem of a resort that is nestled away with amazing views from every angle. The accommodations are very nice and beds very comfy. The resort management and staff made us feel very safe with their covid measures in place. Great job on that! Vancouver Islanders get out there and enjoy staying and supporting local (close to home). Be catered to and enjoy an experience you will never forget! Thank you to all the staff for great personal service and the attention to details...
Response from the owner: Thanks, Heather! It was a pleasure having you and your family up. See you next year!
If you're looking for a first class experience with knowledgeable guides and the most top notch staff you can look no further. The resort itself is nestled practically in the middle of nowhere with the beautiful Pacific Northwest as the background. Aside from the amazing fishing there are perfect hiking trails, kayaks and paddle boards to use. I also hope you like to eat well because the kitchen will be sure to keep your belly happy. Thank you so much for the trip of a lifetime and we will most certainly be back!
This is a wilderness retreat second to none. Eagle Nook Resort is an experience from beginning to end. No access by road, so we took a float plane from Vancouver and delivered us to their dock. It is remote, tucked off the Pacific coast, and the mountains and water are absolutely gorgeous. We had 3 days of great fishing... we caught salmon, halibut, and tuna. You guys are great guides and hosts, thanks to Jeff, Trevor, Tim and the rest of you guys! And the food was exquisite. Hats off to this crew!
We are just about to head back to our favorite West Coast resort. The location, people, equipment and atmosphere are second to none. The fishing is outstanding and guides are extremely competent and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Eagle nook and lucky sportfishing for the trip of a lifetime🎣⚓️
Response from the owner: Hope you enjoyed yourselves!
Just left this beautiful property on a float plan after a four night stay with our 18 year old grandson for his high school graduation gift. My husband who has been fishing for 60 years all over the world says it’s the best fishing trip of his entire life ... he’s never caught so many fish in three days. In fact we caught our limit for our stay and LOVED every minute. The staff, food, luxury beds & linens, wine & cocktails are five star ~ our guide Jeff knew the best spots, managed the boat completely and was so generous with his knowledge & expertise ... we played the best tunes while catching, saw whales breaching, dolphins and bald eagles ... then chef Jimmy & Benny met us at the dock with mid-aft lunch like chowder one day, quesadillas & margaritas another, followed by outstanding four course dinner that eve. We so enjoyed dedicated manager Samantha along with staff Katie & Emily. Thank you, owners Dan and Jeff for creating this five star fishing resort. We are going back 2020.
Response from the owner: Thank you so much for your kind words, Marsha! We had a wonderful time with you and your family. See you next year. - Sam
Fantastic spot.
Eagle Nook is an unbelievable paradise tucked into a picturesque cranny of Barkley Sound. It never fails to reward a visit.
Response from the owner: Thanks David. We think it's pretty magical here too.
Fun, fun, fun? Thank you! Awesome time!
Response from the owner: So glad you had a great time here Kathleen. It was a pleasure to have you here to celebrate your birthday. And again congrats on being the Derby winner!!
